Obit CandleLinnie Mae Smith Taylor, 81, of Racine, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2014, in the Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Born November, 13, 1932 in Reedsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Amanda Jane Chaney Smith. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother, grandma and great-grandma.

She is survived by her daughters, Rosalie Mae (Robert) Parsons, Little Hocking, Oh., Gloria Jean Taylor, Racine, sons, Robert Leo (Cathy) Taylor, Racine, and Eric Jan Taylor, Racine. Grandchildren, Angelia Dawn (Rick) Smith, Middleport, Robert Joseph (Stephjanie) Taylor, Belpre, Christopher William (Tanya Watson) Smeeks, Coolville, and Adam Wayne (Wendy) Smeeks, Nelsonville, four great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Linnie is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Francis Leo Taylor, on October 23, 2006. A son-in-law, Franklin Smeeks, brothers, Harold Smith, Horace “Tom” Smith, Richard Smith, sisters Mabel Cremeans, and Gearldine Lapanne also preceded her in death.

A private family graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, in the Meigs Memory Gardens with Pastor David Hopkins officiating. In keeping with Linnie’s wishes there will be no calling hours. The Cremeens Funeral Home of Racine is entrusted with Linnie’s final arrangements.
