Edith L. Shipley, 83

Edith L. Shipley, 83, Shoestring Ridge community, Gallipolis, passed away at 8:22 P.M. Monday, February 10, 2014 in the Holzer Medical Center. Born November 13, 1928 in Mingo Junction, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Sims Mayberry. She was retired after thirty years as owner and operator of the Put-On-Shop in downtown Gallipolis. She attended the First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her
husband, Paul Shipley, in 1977 and by two sisters, Dorothy Dryer and Thelma McAtee.

Surviving are her two sons, Doug (Kandi) Shipley and Greg Shipley, both of Gallipolis, a grandson, Shannon (Krista) Shipley, St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 14, 2014, in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum on the grounds of the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Alfred Holley. Interment will follow. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements for Edith are entrusted to the Cremeens Funeral Chapel.
