image001(5)Ava Mae Lasseter, 6 month old daughter of Brandon and Bre Ann Lasseter, passed peacefully in their arms on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital after a life-long courageous battle with several complex congenital heart defects. Through-out her journey she continuously surprised her amazing doctors with the strength and determination to survive. Ava’s smile and personality melted many hearts along the way.

In addition to her parents, Ava is survived by paternal grandparents, Joe and Cindy Calvert of Gallipolis and Tim and Vanessa Lasseter of Richmond, Virginia; maternal great grandparents, Richard and Betty Thomas of Lecta, Ohio and Bill and Sara Adkins of Ona, West Virginia; paternal great grandparents Howell and Alice Lasseter, Fred and Marjorie Calvert both of Gallipolis, and Scott and Teresa Blizzard of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia; Aunts and Uncles, Robin Calvert, Chuck Calvert, Brittany and Aaron Wothe, Ryan and Amanda Carr, Michelle Lasseter, Ashlie Wellman, and a host of other family and dear friends including special cousins Jennifer and Mike Forbush. Ava was met at

Heaven’s gate by maternal grandmother Terri Daniels, paternal great grandparents Chuck and Jackie Hoschar, and maternal great-great grandmother Violet Mae Stumbo and many other special loved ones.

Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Loren Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Mason County, WV. Friends may call at Willis Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 5-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to “Benefit for Ava” at any Peoples Bank location. This fund will be used to pay it forward to other families affected by congenital heart defects in memory of Ava. Pallbearers will be Chuck Calvert, Ryan Carr, Aaron Wothe, and Levi Brandeberry.
