ROCKSPRINGS – The Meigs County Agricultural Society held it’s annual election for fair board directors.

Up for election were six positions to be filled with each position serving a three year term. Incumbents up for election were Samuel Evans, Wes Karr, Tom Pullins, Tara Rose, Adam Smith, and Brent Rose. Additionally, Melissa Hensley Scyoc and Shawn Fitzgerald were running for one of the six positions.

Paul Will, Jr., Kelli Markin, and Brandon Fitch were running to fill additional position which was an unexpired term ending November 20, 2017. Will had been appointed prior to the 2016 fair to fill the position vacated by Larry Life.

Elected were Evans, Karr, Tara Rose, Pullins, Smith and Brent Rose. Will was also elected to fill the unexpired term.

Also discussed at the meeting were the Meigs County Agricultural Society Basic Livestock Rules and scheduling of shows at the 2017 fair.

The Meigs County Agricultural Society is responsible for the maintenance, care and running of the Meigs County Fair. The directors volunteer their time throughout the year and during the fair to make the week long event possible. They are not paid to serve as directors on the fair board.
