Erma Belle (Queen) Sission, 90

Christian candle cross obitErma Belle (Queen) Sisson, 90, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Jeannie in Hilliard, Ohio.

She was born September 25, 1926 in Cove Gap, West Virginia, daughter of the late Perry and Nettie Cyfers Queen. Erma was married to Herman E. Sisson on August 28, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2001.

Erma accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 16 at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. She attended Dickey Chapel Church, Macedonia Church and was a member of Gallipolis Church of Christ in Christian Union. She was very active and was a great blessing to many people in these churches and her community. Erma is known for her kindness, compassion and concern for others. Erma will always be remembered as a dedicated prayer warrior.

Surviving are: a son, James (Cathy) Sisson; two daughters, Jeannie (Shelby) Sisson-Sparks and Joanne (Silas) Johnson; a granddaughter, Traci (Chris) Good; three grandsons, Jamie (Amy) Sisson, Stephen (Elizabeth) Sisson, Ty (Bethany) Johnson; three great grandsons, James and Luke Sisson and Carson Johnson; five great granddaughters, Brett Sisson, Madilyn, Isabella and Caroline Johnson and Olivia Whitt; three brothers, Charles Queen, William (Louise) Queen and Buddy (Patty) Queen; and two sisters, Nancy Unroe and Ruby (Dewey) Brewer.

In addition to her parents and husband, Herman E. Sisson, Erma was preceded in death by brothers, Bernie, Perry Jr., Robert and Basil.

Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday.
