RACINE – An officer was recognized at the Racine Council meeting for going over and beyond the call of duty.

Racine Village Deputy Marshal Larry Freed was presented with a certificate in recognition of appreciation “for going over and beyond the call of duty” according to village Marshal, Shane Bell.

Marshal Bell said he was “grateful for the hard work and dedication Deputy Marshal Freed continues to exhibit. He continues to supersede our expectations.”

The Racine marshals have been working in particular to combat drug activity in the community. Deputy Marshal Freed has been a part of working on that and other goals for the department.

“He is a devoted husband, father and police officer,” Marshal Bell said.

A certificate was presented during the regular village council meeting January 3, 2017.
