SOUTHEAST OHIO – Many counties including Meigs and Gallia are under at flash flood watch through Wednesday evening according to the National Weather Service.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service advises there will be excessive rainfall Feb. 28 into March 1. Rain today is saturating already wet grounds, and additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected at times through Wednesday afternoon. Where showers and storms persist, flash flooding will be possible.

Weather may change quickly and monitoring of forecasts is advised to be prepared in case of flash flooding.

Remember not to drive through flooded roadways.
