Ross J. Warren, 71, of Long Bottom, OH passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 after a long battle with cancer at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 31, 1946 in Columbus, OH son of the late Edward B. and Olive Warren. Ross was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War where he earned both Bronze and Silver Stars. He retired from the railroad where he was a conductor for over 40 years. He loved to hunt, fish and build things out of wood. Ross was a tall man of 6’6″ and had a rough force but a heart of gold. Ross will be missed. Goodbye Ross from family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Warren; two sons, Jack W. and Arlene Downer and Mike A. Downer; a daughter, Susie and Dennis Furlong; a brother, Bruce and Donna Warren; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon E. and Joe Z. Moore and a daughter, Tina M. Sayres.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Ohio with Pastor Steve Reed officiating. Military services will be conducted at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 11 A.M. until time of service.
