MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – The county and surrounding areas are under a Winter Weather Advisory for March 17, 2018 from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, Meigs County is predicted to receive freezing rain with a total ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch.

The ice will result in difficult travel conditions. Plan for slippery road conditions early Saturday morning.

Counties in addition to Meigs County included in the Winter Weather Advisory are Perry, Morgan, Athens, Washington, and Vinton in Ohio. In West Virginia counties under the advisory are Jackson, Pleasants, Tyler, Roane, Wirt, Calhoun, Ritchie, Doddridge, Braxton, Gilmer, Lewis, Harrison, Taylor, Upshur, Barbour, Webster, Pocahontas, and Randolph.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
