POMEROY, Ohio – It is almost fair time and that means the Pretty Baby Contest along with the Little Miss/Mister Contest.

”This year we are holding both contests the same day,” said Jane Fitch, superintendent for both contests and Meigs County Fair Board member.

The Little Miss and Mister Contest will be held at the Hill Stage on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 beginning at 10 a.m. This year the Pretty Baby Contest will following the Little Miss and Mister beginning at 1 p.m. This is a change in the schedule as it has previously been held on Saturdays of the fair.

The Little Miss and Mister Contest is sponsored by the Rutland Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Pre-registration ($10 fee) will be on Aug. 3-4, 2018 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Secretary’s Office on the Fairgrounds. Registration will be taken on the day of the contest with a $20 entry fee from 9-10 a.m. at the Hill Stage. Little Miss and Mister is open to girls and boys four years of age by Aug. 13, 2018 but not more than eight years of age by Aug. 13, 2018. All entries must be a resident of Meigs County. The winners will participate in various events the entire week of the fair.

Sponsored by Home National Bank, the Pretty Baby Contest pre-registration is also ($10 fee) on Aug. 3-4, 2018 between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Secretary’s Office on the Fairgrounds. Registration will be taken on the day of the contest ($20 entry fee) from 12-1 p.m. at the Hill Stage. All entries must be residents of Meigs County, Ohio. All ages are to be dressed in casual clothing with no hat/bows, etc.
