Denise Ann Werry Miller, 61, of Portland, Ohio, went to her Heavenly home on October 13, 2018, at Arbors at Pomeroy, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

She was born on May 13, 1957, in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter and Estelle Gress Werry of Mason, WV.

Denise was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason, WV, and a current member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Ravenswood, WV. She was a graduate of Wahama High School, class of “75” and a graduate of WVUP. Dee retired as a storeroom attendant from Century Aluminum. She then worked as a certified medical coder at Eldercare of Ripley. She was a devoted mother and MeMe, a loving sister and aunt. She was a genuine and kind soul.

She is survived by her companion of 17 years, Kenneth Cozart of Portland, OH; daughters, Jayme Miller Hill and husband, Dean of Portland, OH, Hannah Miller Legar and husband Kirk, of Pomeroy, OH; stepdaughter, Monica Miller Cox Bryan and husband, Tom of Parkersburg, WV; her most precious grandchildren (as MeMe would call them), Jace and Piper Hill, Allie and Kenzie Legar; loved step grandchildren, Desiree, Alexis and Brayden Cox; loving sister and best friend, Deborah Michael of Roanoke, VA; younger brother, Glen Werry of Pomeroy, OH; nephews and niece, Christopher Michael, Carmen Dillon Mitchell (Rick), and Jonathon Dillon (Ella).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Paula and John Dillon, and brother-in-law, John Michael.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason, WV, with Father Pen officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery in Pomeroy, Ohio.

Friends may visit the family at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV, on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, from 6-8 p.m., with a Rosary service at 8 p.m.
