image001(1)Wayne Miller Kemp Jr., 59, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly on Wednesday, December 18, 2013..

He was born May 29, 1954 in Vinton, son of the late Wayne Miller Kemp Sr. and Ethel Louise McAllister. Wayne was formerly employed by MTI of Columbus and in 2011 earned a degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Rio Grande. He loved jazz music and everything about history.

Surviving are his loving partner in life of 26 years, Eva McConnell of Jackson; Wayne’s children and Eva’s children, Missy (Bill) Triplett of Crown City, Tyffany (Mark) Still of Gallipolis, Kimberlee (Frank) Patton of Wellston and Clinton (Brandi Berry) Nickels of Gallipolis; seven grandchildren, Austin and Tori Triplett, Trinity and Markyce Still, Aaren and Baylee Patton, Jackson Bevins; two sisters, Delsa (Jeff) Hill and Salome Attar, two brothers, Tom (Lisa) Kemp and James (Kim) Kemp, all of Gallipolis.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Emmalee Patton and Paislee Nickels and a brother, Harold W. Kemp.

Services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor John O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, Wellston, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.
