IMG_6921On Friday, May 23rd, Farmers Bank presented a $1,000 check to the River City Players to sponsor their August broadway musical production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

The Drowsy Chaperone is a Tony Award winning musical that highlights the Jazz-age shows of the 1920’s and the influence of those shows. The River City Players will perform this play on August 8th and 9th.

“Farmers Bank is happy to continue our support of the River City Players,” said Paul Reed, President and CEO of Farmers Bank. “They’re here to enrich our area and our residents with the arts, and we are here to help them do that.”

The River City Players is a nonprofit preforming arts organization. Their mission is to strive to keep the creative spirit alive in our under-served corner of Appalachia through a wide range of performances and special events that promote education, encourage artistic exchange and support the local economy.
