County Commissioners Allocate Funds to Meigs County Council on Aging

stars-storyThe Meigs County Commissioners met on June 26, 2014, for their weekly meeting at the Pomeroy Courthouse. As the meeting opened, the previous week’s minutes and the county bills were approved, with $52,531.56 in the County General and $318,220.14 in bills for the county total. The commissioners proceeded to appropriate $6,850 from unappropriated funds, with $350 going into the A001-A08 Travel, Commissioners fund, and the rest going into the A001-A10 Professional Services, Commissioners fund. An advance back transfer of $2,400 from B036-B04 into to County, CHIP Grant fund was approved, as well as an advance back of $4,662.71 from Y079-Y01, an inactive insurance fund, into County General, A047-A02. A new fund, B024, 2014 Litter Clean-Up and Tire Amnesty, was established, with $20,864.80 of grant money being approved into B024-B01, Litter Clan-up and Tire Amnesty, and $3,000 in donations being approved into B024-B02, Local Commitment Fund.

Next, an allocation of $8,000 for the Meigs County Council on Aging was approved by the Commissioners. The Dangerous Wild Animal Response Team Committee members were also approved. Members are Sherriff Keith Wood, Fire Chief Russell Carson, EMS Director Robbie Jacks, EMA Director Robert E. Byer, Health Department Emergency Coordinater Frank Gorscak, Jordan Pickens, County Commissioner Tim Ihle, and James Bailey, the wild animal owner.

Bituminous bid openings were heard and will be referred to the county engineer, and Meigs County Jobs and Family Services Director Chris Shank brought forth 20 various yearly resolutions, all of which were approved. The meeting was then adjourned.
