Obit CandleIrene L. Lewis, 71, of Gallipolis, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center.

She was born September 28, 1942 in Spokane, Washington, daughter of the late Ralph John and Vee G. Hansen Pankratz. Irene worked at Holzer Senior Care in housekeeping and did private caregiving. She was a member of French City Baptist Church and participated in Relay for Life.

Surviving are her daughter, Sandra (Kevin) Plantz of Gallipolis and her son, Adan (Keta) Lewis of Wilmington, Ohio; three grandsons, Nathan Plantz of Cincinnati, Shane (Jenna) Plantz of Gallipolis and Jacob Lewis of Wilmington; one great granddaughter, Peyton Plantz of Gallipolis; two sisters, Madge (Pete) Araldi of Citrus Heights, California and JulieAnn Pankratz of Scotia, New York; her former husband, Ray Lewis of Gallipolis; – special friend, Sid Jeter of Arizona, several nieces, nephews and special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Jack Pankratz.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Nathan Plantz, Shane Plantz, Jacob Lewis, Dennis McGuire, Rocky Bennett, and Saul Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Reed Blain and Don Denny.
