Mary JaneMary Jane Brumfield, 72, Gallipolis, passed away at 10:20 P.M. Tuesday, September 3, 2014 at her Neighborhood Road home. Born December 16, 1941 in the Eno community of Gallia County she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Vera A. Simms Miles. She was a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Church. Mary Jane was a licensed beautician, was an employee of Planned Parenthood for several years and was retired from Johnson’s Grocery with over 20 years of service. Surviving is her husband, Donavan Laurence Brumfield, whom she married March 11, 1983 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughters, Debra Mink, Grove City, Ohio, Sherry Jane (Nick Dingess) Powers, Gallipolis, sons, Larry (Cindy) Scott, Mt. Sterling, Ohio and Jason (Heather) Brumfield, Gallipolis, grandchildren, Dustin Mink, Lindsey Mink (Garrett) Robinson, Larry (Heather) Scott Jr., Ashley Marie Powers (James) Johnson, William ”Billy” David Powers II , Jenson Brumfield and Emily Barnett, two great-grandchildren, Alison Scott, Liam Robinson and a third great-grandson, Landon, who will arrive this Fall, a former son-in-law and a very special friend, David Mink, Gallipolis, sisters, Verna Mae Hackney, Gallipolis and Karen (Nick) Johnson, Gallipolis, brother, James (Jean) Ballard, Mulberry, Florida, sisters-in-law, Betty Miles, Griffithsville, West Virginia and Judy Miles, Gallipolis.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Ray Miles and Carter Miles, son-in-law, William David Powers and brother-in-law, Bill Hackney.

Mary Jane was a “great friend to many, a loving sister, a caring mother and a devoted grandmother” and will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, 2014, in the Cremeens Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Pastors Alfred Holley and Randy Carnes. Interment will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Mercerville. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Casketbearers are B.P. Hackney, Stoney Johnson, Jenson Brumfield, Billy Powers, Dustin Mink. Larry Scott Jr., Garrett Robinson and James Johnson.
