stars-storyCOLUMBUS, OH – Governors, regulators, and industry experts from oil and gas producing states across the country will meet in Columbus, Ohio this weekend to discuss the responsible development of our nation’s energy resources at the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC) Annual Conference.

The theme of this year’s conference is Doing it Right: Better Cooperation, Better Results. IOGCC conferences enable key policy leaders and state regulatory agencies to collaborate and communicate in an ongoing effort to keep current with rapidly changing technology and share innovative regulatory procedures from state to state.

“Ohio plays a significant role in our nation’s energy history, and is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the first oil well discovered in North America this month, making it a fitting location for energy leaders to discuss the country’s energy future,” said Mike Smith, IOGCC executive director.

Conference speakers will address a variety of topics ranging from upcoming technologies, regulatory developments, and energy education.
