Nellie Waugh photo 001Nellie B. Waugh, of Gallipolis, and at the time of her death the oldest person in Gallia County at 107, died Monday morning December 15, 2014 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born February 6, 1907 in Ohio Township, Gallia County, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mora Braley Walters. In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded by her husband, Heber Waugh in 1986, by a son, Charles R. ‘Bobby’ Jackson in 1948, by 2 brothers, Oakley and Kenneth Walters, and by 3 sisters, Lucille Lemon Brown, Marguerite Johnson Gothard, and Helen Mae Sheets.
She was an aide at the Gallipolis State Institute, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union.

Nellie is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Thursday December 18, 2014 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home, with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to services.

Pallbearers will be: Jerry Haffelt, Terry O’Dell, John Lane, Brad Watson, Tom Walters, and Steve Hornsby.
