Anderson elected council president during organizational meeting

POMEROY – Pomeroy Village Council held their first of the year organizational meeting.

Prior to their regularly scheduled meeting, the council voted on several organizational items for the year. They approved Roberts Rules of Order to govern the meetings. They also voted to continue the schedule of holding council meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month in 2017 with the meetings to begin at 7 p.m.

Council member Don Anderson was elected president of the council. Anderson was nominated by Council member Phil Ohlinger and Council member Ruth Spaun offered the second on the nomination and Anderson was unanimously voted in as president. Ohlinger had served as council president for 2016.

Additionally, attorney Christopher Tenoglia was reappointed by Mayor Bryan Shank as the village solicitor. Linda Warned was also reappointed to serve as magistrate for Pomeroy Mayor’s Court.

The council then adjourned from the organizational meeting and began their regularly scheduled meeting.

Attending the organizational meeting in addition to council members Anderson, Ohlinger and Spaun along with Mayor Shank were council members Maureen Hennessy and Nick Michael. Village Clerk Susan Baker was also in attendance. Council member Vic Young was absent.
