Alleged domestic distpute turns violent, stabbing suspect in custody

POMEROY, Ohio – A suspect is in custody after an alleged stabbing in Syracuse, Ohio.

What allegedly began as an argument turned into violence, one person was treated for stabbing injuries while another has been incarcerated. According to a statement from Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood, his office received a report last night at around 8:10 p.m. about a possible stabbing that occurred in Syracuse, Ohio. Sgt. Curtis Jones and Deputy Jeff Perry responded to the TNT Gas station where the victim a 20-year old male, was located. The victim advised officers that he and his girlfriend, Paulena Yost, 20, allegedly stabbed him. The victim had been at the residence he shared with Yost on Sixth Street in Syracuse. The residence is where the couple allegedly had been when an argument began which led into the stabbing. The victim was able to leave and get to the TNT Gas station to get help.

The victim, who had injuries to his back, was transported to EMS to the Holzer Emergency Room for treatment. In addition, Child Protective Services was contacted as child was in the residence at the time of the incident. The child was placed with a grandparent. Yost was arrested and incarcerated in the Middleport Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault, a felony of the fourth degree, waiting for arraignment in the Meigs County Court.
