COLUMBUS, Ohio —The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) today announced the launch of PowerForward: a PUCO review of the latest in technological and regulatory innovation that could serve to modernize the electric distribution grid and enhance the customer electricity experience.

“Technology is evolving rapidly in the electricity industry. Through PowerForward, the PUCO will comprehensively explore this technology and consider how it could serve to enhance the customer electricity experience,” said PUCO Chairman Asim Z. Haque. “We will be hosting national experts that are itching to talk about an evolving world of power delivery. I personally am excited to advance the electricity dialogue in Ohio; PowerForward could be the start of something revolutionary.”

The PUCO will kick off PowerForward on April 18, 19 and 20. The three-day “A Glimpse at the Future” series will feature presentations examining technologies affecting a modern distribution grid; what our future grid could offer customers; and what technologies are in development to realize such enhancements. The full agenda is available here.

PowerForward will be livestreamed on the PUCO website and is available to the public.
