Hazel Epple Blackwood Oliver, 89

Hazel Epple Blackwood Oliver, 89, went home to be with her Lord April 1, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 20, 1927 on Bunker Hill in Bedford Township to the late Dana and Alice (Nicholson) Epple.

She was a homemaker and an avid bird watcher. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church.

She is survived by a son Alan (Marta) Blackwood, daughters Deanna (Charles) Huckabee and Cyndi (David) King, daughter-in-law Terri Blackwood, 10 grand children and 13 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Alan Dean Blackwood Jr. and Ohler Oliver, son Owen Blackwood, two infant brothers and brother Kermit Epple.

Visitation will Monday April 3, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. The funeral will be held Tuesday April 4, 2017 at the funeral home at 1 PM with Rev Alan Blackwood conducting the service. Burial will be at the Carleton Cemetery.
