CHESHIRE, Ohio – One person has died following a one vehicle crash on State Route 7 on Nov. 6, 2017.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at approximately 6:36 a.m. the Gallipolis post received a call concerning a crash on State Route 7 in the Village of Cheshire. According to a statement released from the OSP, a driver of a 2010 Chrysler Sebring fatally “struck a pedestrian that was crossing the roadway.”

State Route 7 was closed for three hours while along with the OSP, the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, Gallia County EMS, and Gallia County ODOT responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

The driver was Lisa Roush, 57, from Pomeroy, Ohio. She was wearing her seat belt. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene, according to OSP.

The pedestrian was Norman J. Schoonover, 78, from Cheshire.
