This week features a person. Can you guess who this person is? Send your guess to [email protected]
How long have you lived in Meigs County? I’ve lived here my whole life.
What is your occupation? I am an EMT.
How long have you been working at your job/occupation? I have been employed at my current job since 1992 (PT) (FT) since early 2000’s.
What is something you like about your job/occupation? I like the fact that I get to people and a chance to make a difference in someones life.
What was your first job? My first job was picking tomatoes in Letart for Cummins Farms.
What village do you live near/in? I live in one of the best little villages in the state Syracuse Ohio.
Something you love about Meigs County? The best thing about living in Meigs County is our communities are all so close nit. If there is a problem or a tragedy everyone’s there to help. Between the school events, community festivals and clubs and organizations there is always something for people to do and enjoy.
Something you would like to change about Meigs County? I would like to see something come to the county that is geared for the youth and that has year around availability. Something like a indoor carting and game center that would be able to accommodate some sporting activities.
Favorite festival or event in the county? My favorite festival would have to be the Party In The Park. It is an all around family event that has something for everyone. I also enjoy the 4th of July in the county. With the parades and fireworks in Racine, Middleport and Rutland and also Rutland FD’s all 4th Festival. Once again something for everyone somewhere.
Do you volunteer in Meigs County, if so what organizations/church, how long? I am a proud member of the Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department for 29 years. I’m those 29 years I’ve seen the worst or the worst and the best of the best. The bond of the members on the department is like no other and extends out to all the other departments in the county. It’s a brotherhood like no other. We are all part of the closest dysfunctional family there is. One thing I would like to add. I want to thank the MIP for everything they do for our county. They are a great asset to the county and I hope nothing but success in the future for them. Thank you.
Last week the MIP featured a person working in the county, D’Lynn Keesee. Misty Morris correctly guessed it was Keesee.
