MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – Once again residents will have the opportunity to clear out the clutter as the annual Meigs Cleanup Day has been scheduled for May 19, 2018.

The annual event will take place at the Meigs County Fairgrounds located at 41850 Fairgrounds Road, Pomeroy, Ohio from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proof of residency such as a driver’s license or utility bill will be required. The Meigs Cleanup Day is for residents and not for industrial or commercial customers.

The funding and support for the Meigs Cleanup Day is provided by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Meigs Soil and Water Conservation District, Meigs County Health Department, Gavin Power Plant, and the Meigs County Commissioners.

County officials volunteer to help with the massive effort during the Cleanup Day to unload vehicles and sort the items being brought in. Other groups such as Scouts, 4-Hers, student athletes and others also volunteer their time to assist to make the Meigs Cleanup Day possible.
