‘No foul play’ in Pleasant Ridge death

POMEROY, Ohio – Pomeory Police Officers responded to the discovery of a body on June 12, 2018.

According to a statement from Pomeroy Police Chief Mark Proffitt, Officer Tristan responded at 12:45 a.m. to a possible death at a Pleasant Ridge residence. Upon arrival, officers found a male to be deceased. In a statement from Chief Proffitt, there was no foul play and indicated it may be a “possible suicide.” The body was found prior to officers arrival by a family friend. Meigs County Assistant Coroner Susan Mansfield responded to the scene along with Middleport Police Department and Meigs County EMS. The body was released to Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home.
