Pamela K. Matura, 66, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Sunday evening, November 18, 2018 at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. She was born May 22, 1952 at Gallipolis, Ohio daughter of Virgil Dee Black and Fannie Marie Newman Black.

Pamela was Executive Director of the Area Agency on Aging, Distict 7 Inc. and had also served as Superintendent of the Gallipolis Developmental Center. Her memberships included Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pt. Pleasant, WVa., National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging, American Society on Aging, and Ohio Association of Gerontology Educators.

Pam is survived by her husband Dr. Raymond C. Matura and two children: Meagan (Joel) Wood, Jackson, Ohio Ryan (Stephanie) Matura, Beaver Creek, Ohio and four grandchildren: Nicholas Barnes, Harper Matura, Abby and Jake Wood.

In addition she is survived by brothers Kenneth (Jo Ann) Blanton, Mt. Dora, Florida, Donald (Sharlene) Blanton Circleville, Ohio, sister, Byrt Todd, Cincinnati, Ohio, and step-sisters Wilma Jessie, Olive Hill, Kentucky and Glenna (Tom) Jenkins, Beloit, Ohio.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Opal Black, brother, Roger Blanton and sisters Edna Nader, Valeria Stanley, Angela Rutan and step-sister Lou Back.

Funeral Services for Pamela K. Matura will be held 11 a.m., Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2222 Jackson Avenue, Pt. Pleasant, WVa. With Father Penumaka Jesuraju and Father David Schmidt officiates. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Rio Grande, Ohio. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Avenue, Gallipolis, Ohio on Friday evening, 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial gifts may be sent to The Pamela K.
