Area orthodontist retiring after 34 years, commitment to excellence remains
PARKERSBURG, WV – On April 30, 2019, Dr. Amy Smith of Smith Orthodontics acquired the practice of Dr. William Stumbo and will be serving his patients in Ripley and Parkersburg.
Dr. Stumbo has been providing orthodontic treatment to residents of Parkersburg and Ripley since 1985. He is a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists and Southern Association of Orthodontists, and is a past president of the West Virginia Orthodontic Alumni Association.
He is definitely an inspiration to other aspiring orthodontists. Americans who were served by Dr. Stumbo may now have to find an alternative practice, like this orthodontist in lincoln, or carry on at their current one with a newly entrusted professional.
“My view towards retirement led me to search for an orthodontist who has excellent qualifications and passion for all of my patients,” Stumbo says. “I am very pleased to entrust Dr. Amy Smith to continue my practice and commitment to the Parkersburg and Ripley communities.”
Dr. Smith also feels good about the fit. “Dr. Stumbo and I share similar professional ideals and views about proper patient care. I look forward to serving additional patients in Parkersburg and getting better acquainted with the residents of Ripley,” says Smith.
Drs. Smith and Stumbo and their teams will be seeing patients at both locations to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved before Dr. Stumbo’s eventual retirement, during which he plans to enjoy fishing and maintaining his historical cars. Maybe after all is done he will need a Dentist in Fishers, considering his plans!
About Dr. Amy Smith: Dr. Smith was born and raised in the Mid-Ohio Valley and currently resides in Parkersburg, where she has owned Smith Orthodontics since 2005. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from West Virginia University and graduated with honors.
