Another COVID-19 Case Reported in Meigs County

POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Health Department is reporting another confirmed case of COVID-19 bringing the county to 3 active cases. This is Meigs Counties 15th case (13 Confirmed, 2 Probable) since April. The patient is a male in the 50 to 59-year-old age range and is not hospitalized.

According to the Health Department, “At this time, we please ask residents to refrain from calling the Health Department for questions regarding this case while we complete our disease investigation and notify relevant individuals. The case and individuals identified as contacts of the case will be advised to self-quarantine for 14 days. We urge residents to continue to follow federal, state, and local guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

The Meigs County Health Department is also reporting their Facebook page is currently unavailable for residence to gain valuable health information and updates on the COVID-19 pandemic. This comes after Facebook unpublishing the page for alleged violations of their “community standards and terms of service.” The Meigs County Health Department has appealed this decision by Facebook and are awaiting their decision. “We apologize to anyone who relies on our Facebook page for up to date information, including the counties case breakdowns,” stated a release from the Meigs County Health Department.
