Meigs County COVID-19 Update for August 28, 2020

POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Health Department is reporting eight additional confirmed cases and two probable cases of COVID-19 in Meigs County. Six of today’s cases are associated with the outbreak at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center. These cases of COVID-19 bring Meigs County to 46 active cases, and 122 total cases (102 Confirmed, 20 Probable) since April.

Today’s Cases:

  • Confirmed case, male in the 100 to 109-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 80 to 89-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 70 to 79-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 70 to 79-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 90 to 99-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 10 to 19-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Probable case, male in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Probable case, female in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.

Residents are asked to refrain from calling the Health Department for questions regarding these cases while they complete the disease investigations, contact tracing, and notify relevant individuals. The cases and individuals identified as contacts of the case will be advised to self-quarantine in accordance with CDC guidance. 

The health department continues to urge residents to continue following federal, state, and local guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
