Meigs COVID-19 Update: Cases Continue to Rise
POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Health Department is reporting 23 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Meigs County over the course of two days for November 18 and November 19, 2020. These cases of COVID-19 bring Meigs County to 72 active cases, and 362 total cases (320 Confirmed, 42 Probable) since April.
November 18 Cases:
- Confirmed case, female in the 30 to 39-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 50 to 59-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 20 to 29-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 50 to 59-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 50 to 59-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 50 to 59-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.

November 19 Cases:
- Confirmed case, male in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the less than 12 months to 9-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 20 to 29-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 30 to 39-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 50 to 59-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 70 to 79-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 70 to 79-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 20 to 29-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
The Meigs County Health Department is also releasing recovered cases for November 19 of 11 individuals no listed as recovered from COVID-19 in Meigs County. This addition brings Meigs County to 279 recovered cases.
Residents are asked to refrain from calling the Health Department for questions regarding these cases while they complete our disease investigations, contact tracing, and notify relevant individuals. The cases and individuals identified as contacts of these cases will be advised to self-quarantine in accordance with CDC guidance.
The health department has seen an increase in cases since the beginning of November and urges residents to continue following federal, state, and local guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including practicing social distancing, handwashing and wearing a face covering. We would also like to also remind businesses that the state issued orders are still in effect and need to be followed to reduce the rise in community spread we are currently seeing.
