Robert Wayne Nance, 57

Robert Wayne Nance, 57, passed away peacefully at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio, on December 21st, 2020. He was born on August 11th, 1963, in Gallia County, Ohio to the late William ‘Frank’ and Rosemary Nance.

For those who knew Robert, they were aware there was a special bond between him and his dad, Frank (especially after his mother’s passing in 2008). Both Robert and Frank served as Gallia County deputy sheriffs: Robert for 33 years and Frank for 26 years. Robert and Frank were members of Promised Land Church and they enjoyed going out to eat at their favorite restaurants – Ponderosa was at the top of the list.

Robert is survived by his siblings, John (Paula) Nance of Peebles; Donna (Rick) Hysell of Gallipolis, Keith (Teresa) Nance of Cheshire; nieces and nephews, Marianne Nance, Jody (Chris) Tackett, Richard Chapman, Angie (Chris) Nibert, Heather (John) Beckwith, Corey Oxyer, Macyn Nance, and Dayna Nance; great nieces and nephews, Kody Lambert, Dekota Metzler, Cassie Nibert, Logan Nibert, Hunter Chapman, Madison Oxyer, Olivia Oxyer, Xavier Oxyer, and William Carpenter; and great-great nephew Beckham Smith.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on December 26, 2020 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastors Truman Johnson, Darrell Johnson, and Donnie Johnson. Interment will be in the Old Mercerville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Those in attendance are asked to follow CDC guidelines and the Ohio Mandate of wearing of facial coverings.

Robert will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but he left behind a testimony for his family and friends that they will be able to see him again. He fought the good fight of faith and has joined his parents in their heavenly homes. Cremeens-King Funeral Home, family-owned and located at 75 Grape Street, is honored to serve the Nance family.
