Meigs, surrounding areas under ice storm warning

RACINE, Ohio – An ice storm warning is in effect for Meigs County and the surrounding areas until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

According to the National Weather Service, a significant icing is expected. Additional snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of one quarter to three tenths of an inch are expected.

Portions of southeast Ohio, northeast Kentucky and central, northern and western West Vigirina are all under the ice storm warning.

Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute.

Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
