Meigs COVID-19 update: Two more deaths associated with the virus

POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Health Department is reporting 11 additional confirmed and one probable case of COVID-19 in Meigs County. Meigs County currently has 61 active cases, and 1,366 total cases (1,228 Confirmed, 138 Probable) since April.

Unfortunately, The Meigs County Health Department is releasing two additional COVID-19 related deaths. These deaths are both in the 70 to 79-year-old age group. These additional deaths bring the county to 33 deaths related to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The MCHD is releasing four additional COVID-19 related hospitalizations. These hospitalizations include two in the 60 to 69-year-old age group, one in the 70 to 79-year-old age group and one in the 80 to 89-year-old age group. These additional hospitalizations bring the county to 71 hospitalizations since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Meigs County Health Department is pleased to announce an additional 6 Meigs County Residents have recovered from COVID-19. This brings to total recovered cases in Meigs County to 1,272.
