Lawrence Eugene (Gene) Reed, 98

On Saturday, April 10, 2021, Lawrence Eugene (Gene) Reed passed away at home in Cardington, Ohio, at the age of 98.

Gene was born at his grandparent’s home in Middleport, Ohio, to Lawrence Reed and Frieda Martin Reed on July 7, 1922. He married his childhood sweetheart, Beulah Mae Hill on September 25, 1945. Together they raised two sons, Ron (Margie) and Ed (Pam).

Preceded in death by his lovely wife, Beulah, and brothers Robert, Richard and James. Left to mourn him are sister – in – law Jackie Reed, brothers – in-law Ray and Ralph Hill, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, four great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Gene fought for our nation during WWII in the Army Air Corp. He liked camping and traveling and was a wonder lust. He loved to ” feesh “, work in his garden, hunt and walk. He enjoyed building a boat and working on his houses. He was a meat, potatoes, eggs and bread guy. Gene worked hard to provide for his family.

He loved his family and simply did not want to live without his Beulah. They are together once again.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Riverview Cemetery in Middleport with Pastor Gary Forry officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport.
