Single vehicle crash results in one fatality

RUTLAND, Ohio – One person is dead following a single vehicle crash in Meigs County.

According to the Gallipolis Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on July 9, 2021 at 10:01 p.m. It happened on State Route 325 near mile post 2. Keli-Abigail Dawn Justus, 18, was traveling southwest on State Route 325 in a 2013 Hyundai Elantra when she drove off the left side of the roadway. According to OSHP, the vehicle struck a fence post, a rock and two trees before finally coming to a stop. Additionally, according to the Patrol, Justus was not wear a seat belt.

One lane was closed to traffic during the response to the crash. Responding in addition to OSHP were the Rutland Fire Department, Meigs County EMS, and Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
