Lenora Jean McKnight, 86, of Pomeroy

Lenora Jean McKnight, 86, of Pomeroy, Ohio passed away peacefully at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio on Monday, August 9,2021. She was born November 7, 1934, in Graham Station, West Virginia to the late William Henry and Opal Cleona Capehart.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and always looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She loved to cook big meals for her family, crochet, and enjoyed going to local auctions.

She was preceded in death by two sisters Ruth Conrad and Juanita Abbott and four brothers Clyde Roush, Delbert Roush, Buford Capehart, Willie Capehart, and Eddie Capehart, and Gary McKnight, Leon McKnight.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald A “Pete” McKnight, two sons Rick and Christine McKnight (Pomeroy, OH) and Jeff and Melody McKnight (Bidwell, OH) and two grandsons Elijah and Payton McKnight and Caleb McKnight who were the light of her life. She is also survived by one brother Irwin and Carolyn Capehart (Katy, TX), two sister-in-laws, Carolyn Dailey (Rutland, OH) and Viola Shoemaker (FL) and two brother-in-laws Henry and Ainslee McKnight (Columbus, OH) and Carlos McKnight (FL), a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Daisy.

Services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio. Friends may call the funeral home on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 6-8 p.m.
