The Church Mouse: God is Everywhere

“Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” (Corinthians 13:8)

How many times have you heard the phrase “They have taken God out of public schools!”? I’ve heard it many, many times. Do not get me wrong, it saddens me that a teacher can actually be fired if they offends someone by praying aloud or reads from the Bible in public school.

I found an article on the internet written by a teacher. As I read it,  it hit me right between the eyes about how Christians are to be the hands & feet of Jesus to the world.

It sickens me that some school systems (not mine) have taken the phrase “under God” out of their daily Pledge of Allegiance.

It makes me want to cry out “What are we doing?” However, when I get completely worked up over the law & rights….I feel the gentle push of the Holy Spirit saying this to me: “When was the last time you were this sad over the fact that some kids never have clean clothes on or enough food to eat? Were you this upset when the boy down the street did not go to school because no one got up to get him dressed and see that he got on the bus? How many folks have you invited to church?”

You see, if I’m not careful, I can get so caught up in the idea of protecting my Christianity rights (which does have its place) that I forget to actually live my Christianity.

I should not be so worried that God has been taken out of our public schools because God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and Omnipresent. He is everywhere all the time, no matter what laws politicians or governments make up. No man has the power to direct where God can & cannot be.

God is in our schools. Jesus is in our schools, because He is in the hearts of His believers. His love shines through us….Us!!

We should live the way Jesus calls us to live. That’s what He’s called us to do, after all! We are just seed-planters. He is the one who saves. So how do we plant seeds? How do we live the Word when we cannot teach about the Word?  One word LOVE!!

Prayer—

Lord, help us to remember that you are always with us no matter what the world says.  Remind us that we can take you anywhere we go.  Thank you for your presence in our lives.  Remind us that we are to be your hands and feet in this world. Help us to share your love with others. Thank you for the blessing we receive. Amen.”
