Valerie Lynn Norman, 54

On Friday, October 1, 2021, Valerie Lynn Norman, loving wife, and mother of four, left this world peacefully and entered the gates of heaven, on her birthday, at the age of 54.

Valerie was born on October 1, 1967 , in Gallipolis, Ohio to Gilbert and Vicki Woods. Upon graduating from high school, she proudly served in the United States Army. On July 7, 1990, she married her husband James and they raised four children together, Wade, Devin, Zach, and Tori. She and James were married for 31 years.

Valerie built a fulfilling life as a homemaker, and everyone that knew her, knew family was her world. She enjoyed singing, was an avid animal lover, and was a caretaker by nature, always putting others first. Valerie enjoyed spending time with her family, and she spent the last several years as “Oma,” a title she dearly loved. She spent many years as a football mom and a cheer mom and took such pride in all her children. Valerie could brighten any room with her beautiful smile, and she impacted many. She will be truly missed and, in our hearts, forever.

Valerie was preceded in death by grandparents, Bradley and Caryl Pooler, grandmother Mary Roush, son James Robert Norman, uncles Daryl and John Pooler, uncle and aunt Ray and Rhea Yonker, and cousin Robert Yonker.

She is survived by her husband James, her four children Wade Woods, Devin and Zachary Norman, and Tori (Bill) Seel, grandsons Jude, Aiden, and Rhett. She is also survived by her sister, Tara (Tom) Gates, brothers, Philip Woods, and William (Samantha) Woods. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Carolyn (James) Milligan, Cindy Norman, Mary (Isaac) Taylor, and Sue Norman and brothers-in-law, Danny Norman, Richard (Tina) Norman, and Jack (Lisa) Norman, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Leland and Paula Norman, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Hours of calling will be Monday, October 4, 5-7 p.m. at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, OH. Funeral immediately to follow.
