Alfred “Eugene” Ruschel, Jr. (Blue Jean), born on February 10, 1951 in Pomeroy Ohio passed peacefully in his sleep on November 29, 2021.
Eugene was a truck driver for the majority of his life, after spending his younger years working on the Ohio river. He had an incredible sense of humor that would put a smile on anyone’s face. He had a great love for fishing, animals, especially his kitties, and spending Saturdays watching Buckeye football with his mom. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Eugene will be remembered by his loving wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Ruschel; his children, Amanda (Barb) Nielsen of Charleston SC and his son David (Christina) Ruschel of Rittman, OH; three grandchildren, David, Abby, and Liam Ruschel; his parents, Alfred Eugene Ruschel, Sr and Helen Grace Ruschel of Pomery, OH; four sisters, Susan Ruschel of Mount Vernon, OH, Sandy (Mike) McDaniel of Tennyson, IN, Mary (Fred) Jones of Heath, OH, and Ila “Nita” (Charles) Yost of Racine, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
