Injuries to Baby Being Investigated

POMEROY, Ohio – An investigation is ongoing concerning injuries sustained by a 7-month old baby in Meigs County.

According to Meigs County Prosecutor James Stanley, his office is investigating “several injuries” to a 7-month old baby. “The baby is receiving the care needed,” Prosecutor Stanley said. He said the baby is in a Columbus hospital receiving treatment. He did not elaborate on the injuries or the current condition of the baby.

Investigator Michael Oliver with the Prosecutor’s Office is presently working on the investigation according to Stanley. With the ongoing investigation, few details are being released at this time, but Stanley said the child has been removed from the custody of the parents. The identity of the parents has not been released as of publication. Stanley stated they are working to identify the responsible party or parties. Charges are expected to be filed following the investigation.
