Washington State Community College to Receive State Funding
COLUMBUS, Ohio – State Representatives Don Jones (R-Freeport) and Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville) announced the State Controlling Board has approved the release of $147,600.00 for improving campus safety on the Washington State Community College Campus in Marietta, Washington County.
“Public Safety of those attending Washington State Community College is always a number one priority and it is wonderful to see funding coming to the College to improve security throughout the entire campus,” said Jones.
This funding will be allocated to update security doors, add more lighting in parking areas and hallways, and improve security camera systems. Through this allocation of funding, current vulnerabilities will be eliminated and public safety will see a great improvement.
“This funding will help ensure WSCC students and faculty are able to learn and grow in a safe, comfortable environment which is essential in order to ensure all involved have a beneficial experience on campus,” said Edwards.
