Meigs County Aug. 2 Primary Election Ballot

POMEROY, Ohio- The special Primary Election Day is quickly approaching on August 2, 2022.

Meigs County does not have a lot on the ballot. For the Republican ballot, there are two contested races. The Democratic ballot has no contested races. Currently, as of July 25, the Meigs County Board of Elections has had 39 early votes in office and received 29 mail in ballots. As of July 25, 27 Democratic ballots have been cast and 41 Republican ballots have been cast.

On the Republican Ballot

For Member of State Central Committee Man (30th District):

For Member of State Central Committee Woman (30th District):

For State Representative (94th District):

  • Jay Edwards

On the Democratic Ballot

For Member of State Central Committee Man (30th District):

For State Representative (94th District):

  • Rhyan Goodman

Early voting in person is still available at the Meigs County Board of Elections Office located at 113 E. Memorial Drive Suite A in Pomeroy. Hours for early voting for July 26-29 are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. For Saturday, July 30, the early voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 31 hours are 1-5 p.m. The last day for early voting is Monday, August 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Voting on Election Day, August 2 will be at the polls from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The election for Ohio House of Representatives, Ohio Senate, Democrat/Republican State Central Committee were not held with the rest of the primary due to issues with the district maps being found unconstitutional twice. The matter was not resolved in time for the spring primary causing the special election in August. 

Ohio voters will find the following races on their August 2 primary ballot:

  • Ohio House of Representatives
  • Ohio Senate
  • Democrat/Republican State Central Committee
  • Local issues and measures impacting their communities (Meigs County has none.)
