Dr. Kelly Roush Named to Advisory Committee

Kelly Roush, DC, CCSP, ATC, has been appointed by the State of Ohio Governor DeWine as an advisor for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Health Care Quality Assurance Advisory Committee (HCQAAC). 

“I am proud to be a part of the OBWC Health Care Quality Assurance Advisory Committee and look forward to working with the other members throughout the coming year,” shared Dr. Roush.

The HCQAAC was created to advise about medical quality issues. Providers are appointed to serve on the HCQAAC and add credibility and diversity to the organization’s mission and goals. HCQAAC members must meet the following requirements: (1) Providers must be familiar with issues relating to the treatment of injured workers in the Ohio workers’ compensation system. (2) Providers must possess significant clinical or administrative experience in health care delivery, including but not limited to, medical quality assurance, disease management, and utilization review. (3) Providers must have experience with and an understanding of the concepts of evidence-based medicine as well as contemporary best practices in their respective areas of practice.

Dr. Roush is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. She specializes in chiropractic, sports medicine, and occupational medicine. She provides treatment of the neck and back, assessment/evaluation and treatment of all extremities, pre-employment/employment physicals, evaluation/treatment of work-related injuries, back school for employers, emergency procedure training for employers and health professionals, pregnancy back and neck pain, motor vehicle accident injuries, cold laser treatment for acute injuries, gait analysis and custom fit orthotics, sports physicals, sport injury education, sports injuries, concussion evaluation, assessment and return to play decisions including cognitive testing, kinesiotaping of sports injuries, and athlete strengthening programs.

Dr. Roush served as a member of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association (OSCA) Board 2017 – 2020, received the OSCA Outstanding Service and Leadership Award in 2019 and the OSCA Professional Achievement Award in 2011. She was recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives in 2020 for her work on the Ohio Concussion Bill and has published two books on sports concussion and neck trauma. In addition, she teaches conferences on emergency procedures, concussion care and neck trauma. She has an additional degree as a Certified Athletic Trainer and is the Sports Medicine Director of Holzer Health System. She focuses her treatment on a thorough exam, chiropractic procedures, and rehabilitation with the goal of getting her patients back in action.
