Emma Lee Brewer, age 85, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Mount Carmel East hospital.

She was born on the Fourth of July 1939, in Portland, Ohio, to the late Edgar and Louise Brewer. Emma graduated from Racine High School Class of 1957. In her youth, she was active in band and 4H. She taught Sunday school and was a Girl Scout leader. Emma enjoyed reading, listening to country music, working jigsaw puzzles, interior decorating, traveling, quilting, golf, and attending arts events. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Franklin University. Emma retired from the State of Ohio with over 25 years of service as a Planner in the Bureau of Employment Services/Department of Job and Family Services.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara “Joann” and William Daniell; long-time companion, Chester White, Jr.; brothers-in-law, John Dobbins and Ronald “Dill” Beegle; nephew, Ryan Beegle; and former husband, Chuck Simeral. Emma is survived by her daughter, Tisha Simeral; Chester White III who was like a son to her; sister, Leanna Beegle; niece and nephews, Dennis Dobbins, Kerry (Lorena) Dobbins, Crista (Scott) Blower, and Rodney (Amy Ritchie) Beegle.

Family will receive friends 12:00 -2:00 pm Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43232, where the funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Private interment will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Stiversville Cemetery in Portland, Ohio. The family wishes to thank Marguerite Gudger, Visiting Angels, Brookdale Lakeview Crossing, and Mount Carmel East for their care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made in Emma’s memory to a charity of choice.
