RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The University of Rio Grande men’s basketball team will return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Ohio Christian University in a rare mid-week matinee at the Newt Oliver Arena.

The game, which is slated to tipoff at 12:30 p.m., will be played in front of the Rio Grande Elementary School student body.

Rio Grande (7-3) cruised past Wilberforce University, 98-70, in its most recent outing on Saturday night in the Newt Oliver Coaches Classic at the Newt Oliver Arena.

The RedStorm, who are off to their best 10-game start since the 2008-09 campaign, were led in the victory by sophomore forward Phillip Hertz’s (Rungsted Kyst, Denmark) 23 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman forward Bilal Young (Cleveland, Ohio) added 19 points and nine rebounds on the evening.

Hertz continues to lead the RedStorm in scoring with just over 15 points per game, while Young and senior guard Jermaine Warmack (Orange, NJ) average 8.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists, respectively, to lead the squad.

Ohio Christian (5-9) finds itself in the midst of a seven-game road trip and a four-game losing streak, with their most recent setback coming at the hands of Campbellsville University, 94-71, last Friday.

The Trailblazers are led on the season by Wesley Russell, who tops the team in scoring (16.2 ppg), rebounds (8.6), and assists (5.9) per game.

The two teams have met once this season, with Rio Grande posting a 70-63 win in Circleville on December 3.

Senior guard Ricky Tisdale (Bolivar, TN) led five Rio players who reached double figures in the win with 16 points, while Young had 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Live video and play-by-play of the contest will be available on www.ihigh.com/redstorm, with pregame beginning at 12:15 p.m.
