Alice Hobbs 2Alice M. Hobbs, age 83, of Gallipolis, died Saturday October 24, 2015 at her residence. Born September 1, 1932 in Big Ugly, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Walton and Margaret Ferrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Virgil Hobbs, her companion, Sherman Parsons, a daughter, Pamela Hopkins, a sister, Louise, and by five brothers, Ranny, Jack, Carl, Tom and Hub (Shirley) Hobbs.
Alice was a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by seven children, Beverly (Randall) Harris of Columbus, Rebecca (Ronald) Frechette of Pomeroy, Virgil J. (Janet Louise) Hobbs of Washington, WV., Rick E. Hobbs of the United Arab Emirates, James Milton (Jamie Sloane) Hobbs of Gallipolis, Betty Lauranna (David) Johnson of Gallipolis, and Linda J. (Donald) Fillinger of Bidwell. One sister, Lillian (Bud) Adkins of Proctorville, sixteen grandchildren, Christopher Harris, Teresa Harris, Aaron Frechette, Jackie Lawson, John J. Hobbs, Virgil Hobbs, Alicia Scites, Tristan Palbich, Megan Yost, Michelle Rodriguez, David Johnson, Patrick Fillinger, Katherine Fillinger, Andrew Hatfield, Erica Hopkins, and Levi Hopkins. Also surviving are numerous great grandchildren, and special friends, Ed King, Gordon Estes, and Donald Lorrison.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Monday November 2, 2015 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from Noon until the time of service.
