POMEROY, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that State Route 143 in Meigs County is closing from September 8-9, 2017 as part of an ongoing realignment project.

The closure is taking place at the current State Route 7 and State Route 143 intersection. It will be in place from 6 p.m., Friday, September 8 through 9 p.m., Saturday, September 9.

The contractor on the project, The Shelly Company, will be building a temporary road on which to maintain traffic while construction of the new State Route 143 realignment takes place.

The detour is State Route 7 to US 33 to State Route 681 to State Route 684 to State Route 143.

The estimated project completion date is October 20, 2017.
