Linden Clovis Elkins, 69
Linden Clovis Elkins, 69, of Patriot, passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 19, 2013.
He was born August 25, 1944 in Cabell County, West Virginia, son of the late Lawson Clark Elkins Sr. and Frances Keenan Elkins. Clovis married Stella “Janie” Williams on February 28, 1963 in Barboursville, West Virginia. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Clovis retired from Bob Evans Farms after 40 years of service. He enjoyed farming and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Stella “Janie” Elkins of Patriot; four children, Angela (Russell ) Potts of Patriot, Jessica Kirby of Gallipolis, Michael L. Elkins of Gallipolis, and Scott T. Elkins of Patriot; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley (Loren) Wagner of New Mexico, Sharon Shiffret of Columbus, Ohio, Leafy Elkins of Huntington, West Virginia, and Elizabeth Bledsoe of Barboursville, West Virginia; and three brothers, Harry Elkins of Ona, West Virginia, Clark (Sally) Elkins of California and Albert Elkins of Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, Clovis was preceded in death by one great grandson, David Claypoole, two brothers, Benjamin and Gary Elkins and a sister, Linda Elkins.
Services will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will be in the Elkins Family Cemetery on the family farm. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 4-7 p.m. There will be a flag presentation by volunteers of area veteran’s lodges.
