stars-storyMEIGS COUNTY – The National Weather Service (N.W.A.) has issued a Flood Watch for Meigs County.

The Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. The watch will remain in effect until Wednesday morning. During a Flood Watch, residents should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Additionally, the N.W.A. advises those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The area received eight to ten inches of snow. Temperatures Tuesday are expected to be above freezing both during the day and the night. Rain is predicted for tonight. The combination of rain and melting snow will raise local streams and eventually the Ohio River. Rain remains in the forecast through Wednesday.
